You can choose to move forward or keep yourself limited, let go of assumptions, become your own resource live stronger and happier than before.

Today’s topic is on “Learning New and Uplifting Self.” 

 

This topic leads the way with a powerful punch to what many people live and deal with day-to-day yet may never really give the respect and attention it deserves when it comes to obtaining something tangible or just making a change; and that punch is about “awareness of self.”

I will not get into details on either of these programs right now but stay tuned to my website and my other social media platforms for updates. 

 

Now, let’s get on with our topic for today on “Learning New and Uplifting Yourself.”

 

As in previous podcasts, I am presenting a BASIC outline that is easy to follow, and I will briefly discuss each point.

So, let’s begin with the first one: Awareness of Self.

Awareness of self relates to a sense of awareness for learning something new that uplifts you emotionally, physically and spiritually.

There can be many ways to engage uplifting in your life. Let’s go over a few exemplary ideas to help you better understand how to curate your list on awareness of self. 

The first one deals with emotions. So, working on uplifting emotionally can include:

·        Mindfulness 

·        Affirmations

·        Journaling

The second deals with physical attributes. Looking at uplifting from a physical stance such as scenic walking, dancing, community volunteering, breathing exercises to quiet the mind and body can be a positive experience.

From a spiritual perspective, some uplifting ideas equate to making connections, being in prayer, and seeking purpose.

For your own personal desires, it can take some thought.

 

So, we are moving into a Thought Tank Moment!

Here is a quote that I feel serves as a profound impact for today’s topic. 

The quote says:

“If  you never change and therefore if your life never changes, is this okay with you? What would your life look like if,  you don’t change?” 

– Universal Coaching Institute (2014).

 

As a life coach and focusing much attention on Neurolinguistic Programming, let’s look at the topic “Learning New and Uplifting Yourself” from this quote’s perspective. It’s about how your mind works [to either move you forward or keep you limited].

Keep in mind, your choice of words fall into this diverse mindful synopsis of actions as well. Some words can be a barrier that you start to believe, and thus limits you emotionally, physically, and even spiritually. Your health is also affected by this due to a continuum of negative mindful stimulus be it internally or externally. Therefore, assumptions can be triggered.

 

Your mindful actions may cause you to make assumptions about yourself either because you feel you have failed before in something you wanted to do or did, or failure has to do with external sources. In either case, your perception is thwarted.

Once you separate your mind from such negative nuisances, an awareness of self takes over which include how you choose to speak and more. This separation allows you to see what you want, what you desire and that by even one turn of events can uplift you as you now see availability to things that were not visible prior.

 

By practicing NLP methods, you are capable of filtering your perceptions and even limiting beliefs. Making choices is where you become your own resource. It does not mean that you will never require resources from other entities; what this means is that you are stronger in your determination of making choices without support or input. This is where your filtering process kicks in more.

 

The best definition for Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) is from my alma mater- Universal Coaching Institute (2014) which states:

“you go from a present state (how things are now) to a desired state (how you want them to be).” – Universal Coaching Institute (2014)

The key is getting around all the fluff and dumping it.

 

So, as a BIG AWARENESS QUESTION MOMENT…

Ask yourself,

What is it that I want to learn that excites my senses every time I speak or think about it?

Make note of what you are experiencing at this moment. It does not have to be perfect or in order right now.

 

Looking deeper into your response to the prior question, answer these two questions.

·        Are there obstacles present that are keeping me from learning something new? 

·        Have I set boundaries concerning such obstacles to help keep me moving in a positive direction?

***Always remember that these obstacles do not have to be from an external source as they can also reside in you. So, take some time to reflect on this.

 

For clarity in your trek of self-care, understand the processes you have to put in place for this journey of learning something new; knowing that you may need to work on areas of SELF before embarking on something new.

 

***Also remember it’s ok if you have no desire to learn something new; that you are not a lifelong learner of sorts. You can still apply the concept, it just won’t be specifically like learning something new, yet it can allow for the same benefits of how it uplifts you [emotionally, physically, and spiritually], mind and body together. In this case, you can flip it into what you already love doing and redesign ways you desire to improve it.

This phenomenal action tool is used in my life coaching services and even workshops for empty nesters as it is an adaptable resource.

 

Learning and Uplifting Yourself should be a fun and adventurous journey for you full of possibilities and positive reinforcements. However, this adventure does not go without a plan and intentional commitment from you. It is a collection of books on true stories about everyday life and more. However, this quote is where Jack uses it as a tool for mindset change encouraging action rather than inaction. The quote by Jack Canfield states: 

“Don’t worry about failures, worry about the chances you miss when you don’t even try.”

Now this is a PUNCH to definitely reflect on!
